Any Detroiter will recognize the phrase and will probably end up humming it the rest of the day. Stevie Wonder wasn't thinking of Easter, but I did. Easter is the final confirmation of who Jesus is. It is the final affirmation of his life. It is the final stamp—signed, sealed, delivered—in the victory of Resurrection.
On Sunday, we conclude our sermon series on the Lord's Prayer with the great doxology. It's not another petition; it is the resounding response of the faithful to Jesus as the victor of life and death. So we sing with all the saints in glory, "Thine the Kingdom, Thine the Power, Thine the Glory. Signed, sealed, delivered, Oh Risen Lord, we're yours!"
