"Who Wants to Throw the First Stone?",  John 8:2-11
Rev. Gary Haller preaching
How can the Pharisees discredit Jesus? They try to trap him on a very touchy subject. A woman is “caught” in adultery. They bring her to Jesus and say “The Law of Moses says that she should be stoned to death. Now what do you say?” Jesus’ answer springs their trap back on the Pharisees: “Let anyone of you without sin throw the first stone!” As we look at this powerful story, we begin to see how the “Law” contradicts what God would have us do and creates a new law for us to follow!

Coming Up...

Sunday, June 7
Faithful Obedience, Genesis 12:1-9; Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26
Rev. Chad Oyer preaching
This lesson focuses on Abram and Jesus's openness to God's voice and the Holy Spirit's prompting "Go!" in taking the next step of faithful obedience. The prayer for this message is that, "May all who come behind us find us faithful."

Sunday, June 14
Big Love, Small Moments, Genesis 18:1–15; 21:1–7
Rev. Sarah Alexander preaching
God often reveals divine love not through pageantry, spectacle, power, or perfection, but through ordinary moments: shared meals, laughter, waiting, community, tenderness, and intentional presence. The small moments of life are often where God's grace, joy, and peace reside.

Sunday, June 21
Unacceptable Excuses, Matthew 10: 24-39
Rev. Dr. Charles Boayue, Jr. preaching

Father's Day
The Gospel of Matthew presents Jesus at his starkest. Jesus lays on the line, without mincing his words, what it takes to follow him. If you ever wanted to know without a doubt, come and hear it again for yourself. At times like these, when people are looking for authenticity and purpose and belonging, they deserve to be told the truth plainly. You may not like what you hear, but we all need to hear the truth. Come and hear it for yourself and see what you want to do about following Jesus the rest of our life. It will do your soul a lot of good and your life could be placed on solid ground.

Sunday, June 28
What Is God Up to Here?, Matthew 10: 40-42
Rev. Dr. Charles Boayue, Jr. preaching
When Jesus promises rewards to those who welcome and receive Him, he is painting a picture of high-risk, spiritual warzone. Those who stand in the front lines in this spiritual warfare against Satan and his minions as well as those who encourage and support their mission demonstrate personal investment in the mission of Christ and His Church. In addition to providing prayer, food, clothing, shelter, and money, they are taking necessary the risks for the world to become a better place. This sermon will challenge, encourage, and strengthen you in the Christian life of faith.
